Green Standards and Tools for Sustainable Development of Territories

In modern conditions, territorial security issues are becoming particularly relevant due to changes in global economic and climatic conditions. The need for an integrated approach to sustainable development dictates the need to study mechanisms that ensure reliable protection of the interests of the population and the stability of the regional economy. The problem of sustainable development of territories and the adaptation of international standards in Russian practice is becoming particularly relevant in the context of growing global challenges such as climate change, a shortage of high-quality territories and the need to improve resource efficiency. The aim is to identify the factors influencing the sustainable development of territories and propose effective measures to strengthen them. The paper uses methods of comparative analysis, a systematic approach and benchmarking. The international standards of sustainable development are analyzed, which made it possible to form recommendations for adapting foreign experience in Russian practice, and the expediency of introducing international standards into the experience of Russian companies is formulated. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive study of the mechanisms of adaptation of international standards of sustainable development in the Russian practice of territorial development, which makes it possible to formulate recommendations for the integration of these standards into domestic practice, justify the feasibility of their implementation and identify factors constraining the adaptation of international standards in Russian conditions. The results are of practical importance because they can improve the quality of life of the population., to increase the investment attractiveness of the territories and reduce the negative effects of external influences. The proposed approaches can be applied in executive authorities, municipalities and organizations interested in the sustainable development of regions.
