Green Transport: Ecological Revolution or Challenge for the Economy?

The article analyzes green transport as a key element of sustainable development of regions, with an emphasis on the economic and environmental effects of its implementation. The main types of green transport are considered, including electric vehicles, hydrogen technologies, public transport on renewable energy sources and micromobility. Particular attention is paid to the benefits of green transport, such as reduced operating costs, reduced dependence on fossil fuels, creation of new jobs and increased competitiveness of regions. The barriers to the implementation of these technologies in Russia and Central Asian countries are studied, including high capital costs, lack of infrastructure, climatic features and dependence on imports of critical components. The article emphasizes the need for a comprehensive public policy, adaptation of technologies to regional conditions and raising public awareness for a successful transition to green transport.
