In legal science, there are positions that the recognition of private land ownership has called into question the existence of land law as an independent branch of Russian law. There are also views that do not deny the independence of land law as a branch, but in accordance with them, the introduction of private land ownership and its recognition as immovable property in civil circulation, gives reason to attribute land law to private law branches. The author of the article does not agree with such views and provides justification for the fact that land law, as before, is a branch of Russian law, which has its own subject of legal regulation, and is a branch of public law with separate elements of private law regulation.
