Zemstvo and non-zemstvo medical workers of Perm governorate: composition, structure and socio-cultural characteristics

The article examines the professional and socio-cultural characteristics of zemstvo medical workers in comparison with non-zemstvo doctors using the case of Perm Governorate. The analysis allowed the authors to identify the key features of this category of the «third element» in Perm zemstvo and to characterize the socio-cultural aspects of the medical profession in Perm Governorate in the late XIXth - early XXth century.
