The genre particularities of thematic essays of Nihzegorodskie authors at the end of the XIX century

The article analyzes the literary features of the problem essays on different topics, represented in the local newspaper «Nizhegorodskiye gubernskIye vedomosty» at the end of the XIX century. The most interesting texts such as “The 17 of February in the Heart of Russia” and “The Achka of Serguch from the Ethnic Point of View” by A.F. Mozharovskiy and “The Beggars and the Charity” by P.A. Albitskiy are being examined in order to find out particularities of the methods of thematic essays.
