The potential of the genre of biography of literary critics

The article attempts to define the specifics of the biography of literary critics as a speech genre, typological features of which are identified in relation to the writers' biographies. With the help of specific examples the author comments on the biography of literary critics in terms of narrative structure, the tasks to be implemented in the text, as well as biographical sources. The author concludes that the biographies of literary critics are a direct form of humanitarian consciousness.
