Financial status of women's educational institutions in Transbaikalia in the 1860s - early 1880s

The author considers features of financing of women's educational institutions in Transbaikalia in the early period of their activity on the basis of archival documents. Charitable organizations and individuals as well as commercial operations conducted by educational institutions played a special role in supporting the women's education because of poverty of direct references to the financing methods in women’s education in the Russian legislation, the gradual reduction of state benefits and the limited resources of the most of Siberian district towns.
