Rigid and flexible project management methods as a basis for forming individual hybrid approaches in project management

Introduction: Project management is a modern, developing branch of knowledge based on various approaches and standards. The author shows various aspects of the formation of approaches to solving the problem and the peculiarities of the terminological apparatus, the differences of which indicate an active process of building up a unified scientific knowledge in the field of project management. The article reveals the phenomenon of the coexistence of various project management systems, their evolution in the new economic conditions and the formation of new methods based on the combination and integration of classical and flexible approaches. The relevance of the topic is based on changing requirements for projects in the light of the modern external environment, an increase in the share of uncertainty, and the absence of a framework for long-term planning. Purpose: to provide guidance to organizations on choosing a project management methodology in accordance with its characteristics. The purpose of the article was to analyze the current management methods and typology of projects, on the basis of which it is possible to plan work on a project using a methodology that gives an advantage in achieving the goal. Methods: analysis, synthesis, comparison, grouping of data. Results: The author systematizes the factors for the effective application of project management techniques, shows the advantages and possible integration of rigid and flexible approaches to achieve maximum efficiency. The object of the research is the international experience of applying standard classical management techniques and a new, flexible approach in the context of various work algorithms in the field of IT technologies. Conclusions: Effective project management requires the selection of methods based on the profile of the project and its characteristics. Hybrid methods, combining classical, waterfall approaches and flexible methods, form a management practice that takes into account the originality of the project and allows you to optimize business processes, improve the quality of work while meeting the budget, deadlines and other key metrics.
