Child abuse in the light of constitutional right to freedom and personal security

The personal constitutional rights of the child, violated by child abuse, are analysed in the article. A special attention is paid to the right of the child to freedom and personal security. The authors emphasize the importance of the examined right, reveal its legal nature, its content, provide with different approaches to its definition. Cases of child abuse in England, the USA, Canada and Finland and liability for physical, psychic and other sufferings inflicted upon the child are also viewed in the article.
