Dwellings of the rural population of Buryatia in the 1920s: common trends and ethnic features

The article studies different types of rural settlements and dwellings with the distinctive features of the structural organization of living space conditioned by the heterogeneity of the ethnic composition of the population of Buryatia, variety of economic and cultural forms and religions. The author comes to the conclusion that in the 1920s the dwelling, its types and peculiarities of the functional zoning regardless of its owner’ nationality, forms and ways of the housekeeping remained traditional despite the efforts of the authorities.
