Dwellings at Shagara 4 site

Mesolithic dwellings are an unique and rather complex phenomenon in the sourcestudies. The paper examines two structures excavated in 1987 and 1994 at Shagara 4 site located in the Meshchera Lowlands, which were taken to be dwellings. They represented largeash and carbonaceous spots sunk into subsoil down to 0,5 meters. External characteristics ofthe ancient structures were compared with the early medieval house also studied at Shagara 4and its interpretation was provided taking into account postpositional changes
