Rural municipal engineering and housing in Pribaikalie during the first postwar decade (1945-1956)

The purpose of this article is to throw light upon a poorly studied aspect of life of collective farms in the first postwar decade - a period of- municipal engineering and housing. Opposition of production to construction resulted in dissolution of many construction crews in collective farms as well as in the elimination of collective farm and intercalative farm enterprises producing construction materials. The neglect of the improvement of way of life in collective farms and of building and repairing houses in villages lead the reduction of rural population.
