The article was prepared within the framework of the author's project "Living Axiology" and represents a new promising research genre - scientific interview. In its essence, this is the revival of the long-standing philosophical tradition of dialogue as the most productive and representative format for finding answers to questions that are basic for the current cultural reality, concerning its value parameters, foundations and trends. The Philosopher and the Artist discuss a number of conceptually important problems for the modern artistic process: the axiological capacity of art; temporality / timelessness of art; the dichotomy of the spiritual / material in art; the epistemological, ethical and aesthetic potential of art; authenticity as a value; correlation of novelty and tradition.
