The short story Morto da Feltre continues the reflections of the Russian writer of the beginning of the 20th century Paul Muratov about a Venetian art of Renaissance. Intertextual interpretation of the short story in the light of Renaissance painting and Italian short story helps to reveal the aspects of Muratov's aesthetic and poetic manner. The main point is different interpretation of the image of Giorgione in the short story Morto da Feltre and in the essay In Giorgione's Homeland from The Images of Italy. The genre of short story determines more fiction and the shift of interest from famous artists to a little-known painter. The circle composition of the inner short story is based on the death of two beloved and on the crossing of fates of a teacher and his follower - Giorgione and Morto da Feltre.
