The pictorial ekphrasis in V.V.Hoffmann's lyrics

The article is devoted to I.I.Levitan's ekphrasis in lyrical series «The Evening Song» and «The Song of Evening Ringing» by V.V Hoffmann (1884-1911). The research attention is concentrated on the problem « the synthesis of arts» urgent for poets of symbolist circle. Linguistic means providing picturesqueness of lyrical landscape (colour, light, scale) are examined. Figurative system and composition of poems by Hoffmann and Levitan's canvas are analysed.
