Life and work of the Irkutsk artist S. L. Yudin

The article considers the creativity of the Irkutsk artist S. L. Yudin in the frameworks of the development of urban landscape. The materials of contemporary art exhibitions where the artist’s works are displayed have been studied. It is noted that Sergei Leonidovich observes the changes in the urban environment: emergence of new architectural complexes, daily lives of the city residents, nature condition. The events in the life of the artist formed the basis for creating many works where the city is portrayed in memorable and vibrant images. The review of the documents confirms that S. L. Yudin continues to create the works where one can see iconic monuments of historical and cultural importance, squares and streets, scenes from the lives of the city residents. Through the acquaintance with the contemporary exhibitions one can understand how the Irkutsk artist approaches urban spaces, describes the process of creating paintings, collects sketches for the views of Irkutsk. It is noted that public interest in the works confirms the necessity to stody contemporary urban landscape and its influence on the exhibitions’ visitors.
