Life strategies and professional and labor orientations of the residents of Siberia (on the example of the Altai territory and the Novosibirsk region)

The paper deals with the current topic of forming life strategies and professional and labor orientations of residents of Siberian regions, in particular, the Novosibirsk region and Altai Territory. The necessity and importance of measures related to increasing the attractiveness of Siberian regions are emphasized. Moreover, it presents the main demographic and economic characteristics chosen for research of border areas, as well as experience in the analysis of life strategies, and professional orientations of residents, according to the results of intelligence research in the settlements of the Novosibirsk region and the Altai Territory, was done by a questionnaire survey (N = 125). The results of the study show that the residents of the analyzing regions are primarily focused on preserving existing resources and family well-being. The authors classify this strategy as adaptive, which is based on the basic values of survival and security.
