The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of adolescent resilience from various disciplinary points of view and approaches. Adolescence is considered as the most important period of neurobehavioral maturation of personality. The problem of increasing the viability of adolescents has been updated so that stress factors do not have the opportunity to disrupt this critical period of human development. Different approaches to understanding viability are presented, and their own view of the problem under consideration is offered. The key factors contributing to the formation of sustainable viability of children and adolescents are identified and characterized. These are primarily social and environmental protective factors: competence, optimism, attachment to the family and the environment. It is said about the variability of these factors over time and that not all adolescents are equally prone to stress, and not all adolescents have stressful experiences that lead to inevitable negative consequences. The theoretical relationships between the viability of adolescents and their positive development have been identified and substantiated. The mechanism of mediating the viability of adolescents and their resistance to stress is explained. The key goal of the study is to bring together separate but interrelated lines of research on the intrapersonal parameter of resilience and its impact on coping with stress during adolescence.
