Malignant neoplasms of children in the regions subjected to radiation contamination following the ChNPP accident

The complex of problems connected with morphological verification, revealing during preventive examinations, degree of neglect and results of treatment of oncologic diseases in children in the regions subjected to radiation contamination due to the ChNPP accident is considered. For estimation of the state of oncologic help in dynamics a cumulative criterion, organizing the multitude of particular indices into one numerical expression is used. The morbidity and mortality of children from malignant neoplasms in 1989-1993 was studied. The problem of thyroid cancer in children living on contaminated territories is noted. A comparative assessment of risks of morbidity and mortality of children from malignant neoplasms in a series of radiocontaminated oblasts of Russia is given.
