Malignant neoplasms in workers of radiochemical facility exposed to radiation at doses exceeded permissible (epidemiological study)

Rate of malignant neoplasm morbidity among workers of radiochemical facility who had been exposed to radiation at doses exceeded permissible level (main group) in comparison with morbidity rate of urban residents of relevant age and sex (control group) was studied. Reliable excess of the rate in the basic group was found. The study detected difference in the structure of malignant tumours, the main contribution to dose in patients with tumours of a skeleton, lung, liver was made by incorporated 239Pu. It was first shown that the rate of tumours of thorax, pancreas, kidney in the professionals exceeded one in the control group.
