The significance of «Ready for labor and defense» in sports and athletic fitness of students

The article deals with the implementation of all-Russian complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" on the basis of Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. We revealed the correlation between sports and athletic fitness of students and their intention to qualify in "Ready for Labor and Defense". The statistics of passing qualifying standards according to badges of "Ready for Labor and Defense" and quantitative involvement of students were shown. The students, studying at Faculty of Service and Tourism in the field of human resource management and at Faculty of Physical Culture in the field of sports education of Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism participated in educational experiment. Educational and methodical work with students was carried out within the discipline "Elective Courses of Physical Culture" and during sporting events.
