For the purpose of studying the peripheral blood erythrocyte indexes at persons of different age with pneumonia 116 patients with extra hospital bacterial pneumonia (80 men and 36 women) who were divided into three age groups are surveyed: 18-44, 45-59 and 60-74 years, control group made from 30 almost healthy people (16 men and 14 women). At all patients the general analysis of blood on the automatic hematologic analyzer "Sysmex KH-21" (Japan) is carried out and erythrocyte gram is counted. Features of human body reaction on pneumonia at patients of various age correspond to peripheral blood erythrocyte indexes. At elderly patients heavier course of pneumonia is revealed at reduction the number of erythrocytes, decrease in hemoglobin index and lack of erythrocyte indexes at erythrocyte gram.
