The significance of the myth-making of the early Slavs for the investigation of the individual’s creative potential

The article outlines certain results of the study of myth-making of the early Slavs, which allowed to consider the origins of the individual's creative potential as a cultural subject. As a distinctive feature of the culture-making of the early Slavs the formation of linguistic traditions through a special attitude to natural phenomena is analyzed. Consequently, there were certain patterns of development of Slavic culture, paganism, which manifested themselves in an unusual perception of life, closely related to fantasy, myths, which significantly influenced the mentality of the people, their creative practices and way of life. The special role of metaphor in mythopoetic representations of the early Slavs, which reveals the essence of phenomena through the images presented in the corresponding literary texts, is studied. The content and conclusions of the article can serve as a theoretical basis for further investigations of the individual's creative potential as a cultural subject based on the results of the examination of the myth-making of the early Slavs.
