This article examines the importance of a settlement agreement in the realization of the purpose and objectives of civil proceedings. The author considers the goals and objectives of the civil procedure formulated by the legislator. A brief description of the settlement agreement is given. Special attention is paid to the importance and role of the settlement agreement in civil proceedings and the mechanism of legal regulation of civil relations.
