The article presents an analysis of the role and importance of motivation as a management function in service sector organizations, and also reveals the importance of motivation in the personnel management system of service sector organizations. Based on the analysis, the author's recommendations aimed at developing a system of personnel motivation in service organizations at the current stage of development of the analyzed sphere, taking into account the crisis impacts and minimizing their consequences in the industry, are compiled. In conclusion, the author concludes that an effective motivation system is the key to the successful functioning of a service sector organization.
