The importance of transport and tracological expertise in the investigation of road accidents

The ever-increasing demand for transport and the need to transport both people and goods have led to an increase in traffic congestion on road transport networks. Subsequently, the main negative effect is an increase in the number of serious traffic accidents. With the help of transport and tracological research, questions are being resolved regarding the validity of the versions put forward by the participants in the accident during interrogation. The authors conclude that using the achievements of modern criminology, it is possible to reproduce the algorithm of an accident and the circumstances that led to its commission. Often, the conclusions of the forensic examination help investigators refute the fictitious arguments of suspects in such criminal cases and correctly identify all the circumstances of the case, which allows them to make a reasoned procedural decision.
