Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is an infection of the lung parenchyma that is acquired outside a hospital and accounts for about 150 million new cases each year in children under 5 years of age worldwide (1). The annual global incidence is between 150 and 156 million cases, which equates to approximately 10-20 million hospitalizations (2). The content of blood glucose in children with severe pneumonia is still poorly understood, we could not find many studies on this problem, especially the factors that play an important role in this outcome in Russian-language journals. This can influence the outcome of the disease, thereby reducing the mortality of children with community-acquired pneumonia.
