Knowledge and skills as a prerequisite to innovation

The article presents the concepts of cultural capital and innovative potential. Three states of cultural capital are considered, namely: incorporated, objectified and institutionalized. Theories of innovative potential of D. Bell and P. Drucker are also considered. In the categories of cultural capital and innovative potential, similar elements are highlighted, namely knowledge and qualifications, which the authors consider in the context of innovative activity. Summing up, the authors argue that the level of cultural capital and innovative potential of the individual determines the predisposition to create innovations.
