Zonality of the weathering profile of the Middle Permian clays in the Eastern Zakamye region

In the article, the main patterns of forming of eluvial clays in the territory of the Eastern Zakamye is discribed. For clay strata, the zonal character of the structure, physico-mechanical properties, mineral and chemical composition has been established in accordance with the degree of their hypergenic alteration. As a result of laboratory studies, information on the elemental composition of clays and its changes during weathering process was obtained. Based on the systematization and analysis of the obtained materials, regional tables of the mechanical characteristics of clays of various weathering zones were constructed. The research results are of great practical importance and make it possible to optimize the design and construction of infrastructure and structures in this area.
