This article explores the changing forms of Russian folklore in the context of the development of cultural self-identity. It examines the history of Russian folklore, as well as cultural heritage, patriotic education, and the resurgence of folklore traditions in the context of rapid social change. Research conducted in preparation for this article demonstrates that folklore, as an integral part of cultural identity, continues to adapt to modern realities, manifesting itself in various art forms such as music, film, fashion, theater productions, and folk festivals. A survey of 500 respondents demonstrates a high interest in the preservation and adaptation of folk motifs in modern media and folk festivals. The article also addresses the challenges of transforming folklore associated with the loss of interest in oral tradition in the face of digital technology. The paper offers a number of proposals for addressing these issues.
