The authors discovered business and personal correspondence of Аlexander S. Golitsyn, Nikolay S. Zavadovsky, Аlexander L. Pospolitaki, who occupied the major state posts in Novorossiya and Chernomor’e (South of Russian Empire). The letters are kept in the Manuscript Department of the Institute of Russian literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences (the Pushkin House). The most interesting of them is a letter of the ataman of the Black Sea Cossack Host Nikolai Stepanovich Zavadovsky to Prince Alexander Golitsyn (March 8, 1851). It’s official letter, Zavadovsky’s request. On behalf of the Novorossiysk and Bessarabian Governor-General Mikhail Vorontsov, Zavadovsky convinces his addressee not to leave the position of chief of the port city of Yeysk. The comments of Golitsyn are very valuable. They are located on the sidelines of the letter as well as on a separate page. Letters are of obvious scientific interest because they reflect many events in the personal life of participants of correspondence.
