Adjustment of patients with schizophrenia and schizotypal disorder with hypochondriac symptoms and progressive development of negative signs

A study of adaptive capacity of patients with schizophrenia and schizotypal disorder with hypochondriac symptoms and progressive development of negative signs was conducted. Type of adjustment of patients in relation with their constitutionally-morphological characteristics, educational attainment, marital status, length of mental illness, observation by the psychiatric service, compliance with recommendations, and also their individual type of compensatory-adaptive defense were identified. It was revealed that these factors have significant effect on the adaptive capacity of this category of patients.
