The changes taking place in the country and society place new demands on the modern teacher. Currently, the first thing in demand is a teacher - a bearer of basic values, with a high level of professionalism, who creates a rich educational space for the development and self-development of students. Knowledge of the value-semantic field of a teacher's professional activity is relevant today because the value orientation of a teacher's activity is reflected in the results of students' educational activities. In this regard, the need to form a value-semantic attitude to pedagogical activity is indicated already at the initial stage of professional training of future teachers and is reflected in the Federal State Educational Standards for secondary vocational education, which orient the educational process to improve the quality of training of specialists by revealing humanistic qualities, personality orientation, satisfying the pragmatic needs of students, adapting them first to the social environment of the educational institution, and later to the competitive environment in the labor market. The article presents the experience of adapting first-year students to the new social environment of an educational institution, during which the formation of the value-semantic attitude of students to teaching activities is ensured through project activities. The authors reveal the difficulties of adaptation of first-year students to the conditions of study at a pedagogical college, the content of the calendar and thematic planning of the project, presented in educational, correctional and developmental, diagnostic areas; the results of diagnostics of the main motives for choosing a profession and the need for a perspective of work on the formation of the value-semantic attitude of students to teaching activity is determined.
