Adaptation of cows to robotic milking is one of the key tasks of modern industrial dairy farms and complexes. The article presents the results of research on the habituation of cows of the first calving to milking at the VMS "voluntary milking" installations in the Breeding farm "Aurora" of the Gryazovetsky district, one of the leading agricultural enterprises of the Vologda region. Daily milk yields of cows with a milking duration of 3-6 minutes exceeded the same indicator of their peers by 4.9 %, characterized by a low duration of stay at the milking station by 16.5 % and a 3.7 % shorter duration of udder processing. Due to the 25 % higher intensity of milk production, the duration of milking in the formed sample was 1 minute 8 seconds shorter. And in the sample of first-born heifers with a milk yield intensity of M + 0.5 δ, the milk yield for 305 days of lactation was 1403 kg or 15.9 % significantly higher, and the daily one was 4.9 kg or 49.5 % higher. Also in this sample, the duration of stay in the box is 1 min 40 seconds lower, the duration of udder treatment is 22 seconds lower and the duration of milking is 1 min 18 seconds shorter, and the intensity of milk production significantly exceeds 0.18 kg/min.
