The study considers issues of the absence of an employee pool at educational institutions, the increase of an average age of high school teachers and the reluctance of young professionals to fill this niche. In the Nizhny Novgorod region a regional target program “Measures of Social Support for Young Specialists of the Nizhny Novgorod region for 2011-2023” has been developed to solve the problem of young professionals’ adaptation. However, the results of author's survey have shown that in addition to material incentives (provision of accommodation, vehicles and maintaining a certain level of wages), promoting adaptation of young specialists there are also needed social incentives, such as: a high status and public prestige of teachers in a society, possibility of social mobility and career growth, internships at institutions in the other places, exchange of best practices, mentoring, social infrastructure of a place of residence, presence of preschool/high school and additional education and training, community commitment, presence of necessary facilities at rural schools and building new schools. National projects that take into account both material and non-material incentives are created to solve the problem of young professionals’ adaptation.
