Axiological motifs in L. Ulitskaya’s novel “Medea and her children” in the context of gender problems

Statement of the problem. This article discusses the impact of gender analysis and axiology on literary criticism due to the high level of scientific globalization, which leads to the replenishment of the literary dictionary with such terms as gender and value orientation. The purpose of the article is to analyze the motive structure of L. Ulitskaya’s novel Medea and Her Children in the aspect of gender analysis, taking into account the values of feminine and masculine types. Comparative, motivational and gender analysis should be singled out as the main methods. The research results are based on the motive analysis. It was revealed that the axiological picture of the world of female and male images recreated in L. Ulitskaya’s novel ‟Medea and Her Children” is almost identical, but has a number of characteristic features, consisting of the image of the main character and the tropes used.
