The axiological dimension of the modern Kyrgyz society

The area of social development is mainly determined by value priorities. Nowadays, the study of the value system prevailing in society is relevant in the context of qualitative social transformations. Based on the social research, an attempt is made to analyze the values of the modern Kyrgyz society. The latter undergoes modernization and reforms. Besides, it faces a serious crisis in all spheres of life, including the spiritual one. The author correlates the cultural crisis with the value crisis as any culture is based on the value system. Due to the fact that the Kyrgyz society can be divided into five main groups varied in value priorities, the author reveals that the traditional and Soviet values prevail in the modern Kyrgyz society. At the same time, they are gradually replaced by the modernization values related to the Western cultural values.
