The article is devoted to the phenomenon of linguocultural codes, in particular the naturallandscape code and its representation in Russian and German phraseological units and paremias with the component «Rose» and «роза». It is known that each nation has standards, common with other peoples, in connection with which one or another plant name has stable characteristics and semantic aspects. At the same time, individuality of figurative thinking of concrete people leads to the fact that names of plants contain different qualities. Phraseological units and paroemias as carriers of the historical memory of the people reproduce the cultural traditions, identity of the people, a native speaker. The use of plant names as an indirect nomination is conditioned by the associative-imaginative connection, which, in turn, is determined by the national-cultural specificity of the given linguistic community. This or that type of plant in a particular culture is associated either with positive or negative attributes inherent to man. At the same time, some phytonyms mark both positive and negative qualities. The main purpose of this article is to identify and describe the cultural meanings of the above-mentioned units within phraseological units and paremias. The linguocultural analysis provides an opportunity to characterize the national-cultural specificity of the German and Russian mentality. Through the analysis of the paremic discourses of the Russian and German languages we have identified both the universal and the specific in their interpretation, which allows us to establish the value picture of the world of Germans and Russians. Phraseological units with the component rose are actively used in modern Russian. The meanings of this component can both coincide and differ in terms of expression and in terms of content in the two languages. The paroemias of the Russian language emphasize the ambivalence of the phytonym - the presence of thorns along with beautiful flowers. This determines the attitude of culture to the inaccessibility of everything beautiful and much desired. The results of the study should be taken into account when teaching Russian as a foreign language, in a lecture course on linguoculturology, when compiling linguoculturological dictionaries.
