Relevance of Komensky's ideas of moral development for modern society

The priority of students’ moral development in modern society as a chief RF government’s task in the sphere of education as well as the foundation of the complex educational influence upon the student’s personality result in a call for Ja.A. Komensky’s pedagogical heritage who enunciated universal education and moral development to be the vital part of it. The subject of the article is to study Komensky’s ideas of moral development and to prove their relevance for the high school today. The method of analysis is used as a chief one. As a result, the relevance of students’ moral development for modern educational system is justified with the help of basic Komensky’s views and ideas of mores and good nature development. Excerpts of devised educational technologies aimed at moral development as a part of the whole educational process at university are presented. The study can be useful for high school teachers and tutors to implement the ideas of students’ moral development as in-class and out-of-class work within the comprehensive university educational conception.
