Problems of additional professional competence formation of students of secondary vocational education based on the requirements of modern industry

The results of secondary vocational education are a specialty acquired by a student and self-improvement in the educational process. Nowadays, skilled workers, employees and mid-level professionals that have professional competences relevant to the requirements of modern industry are in great demand. So, the problem of the vocational education system is to provide the training for a specialist that will be in demand at modern labour market. The problem solution is in the formation of both basic professional and additional professional competences of future specialists. This article gives the interpretation of the terms “competence”, “competency”, and “professional competence”. The authors formulate the definition of “additional professional competences” and offer the ways of their formation. The results of theoretical research can be used as a basis for creating a pedagogical model for the formation of additional professional competences of the future midlevel professionals that comply with the requirements of modern industry.
