The article reveals the relevance of the problem of the development of polyethno- cultural competence of senior schoolchildren, identifies and substantiates methodological approaches to solving the problem under study. The need to create rural educational clusters to increase the effectiveness of work in the assimilation of the foundations of peace and harmony in a multinational society by schoolchildren is pointed out. The positions of scientists on the concepts of «multiculturalism», «competence», «multicultural competence», as well as the author's definition of the key concept of the research are. The significance of the axiological, humanistic, cultural and technological approaches in solving the problems of the development of polyethnic cultural competence of senior schoolchildren in the rural educational cluster is revealed.
