The article offers the philosophic interpretation of educational process at the higher school, the purposes, technologies and content of education of the new type, capable of avoiding postmodern traps and creating relevant interdisciplinary research programs according to the requirements of modern society. On the other hand, the authors analyze the opportunities arising due to emerging post-modernist approaches in education. The special attention is paid to the major key positions promoting the creation of effective model and defining the strategic development of higher education in Russia. In this regard the article analyzes the current problems of Russian higher education: the challenge of communication barriers in the teacher-student dialogue; the threat of generation gap in the scientific and educational environment and the loss of pedagogical skills; objective difficulties and subjective failures in building a career in science and education.
