Actual Problems of Legal Provision of Economic Security at the Municipal Level

The article examines the nature of the problems and shortcomings in the legal regulation of the activities of local self-government bodies in ensuring their own and the state’s economic security. The author con-siders the development of the role of local self-government in the implementation of the concepts of economic security established by the President of the Russian Federation and reveals the normative deficiencies that create obstacles for local authorities to solve the tasks arising from this role in a timely and effective manner. Taking into account the shortcomings of the current legislation, the author outlines the directions of adaptation of the legal framework and concludes that the legal support of the economic security of local self-government, without which the sustainable growth of the population’s welfare is unthinkable, is possible only by applying an integrated ap-proach to the development of regulatory material in the interaction of municipal officials with the federal legislator.
