Actual problems of interaction between theology and culture

The article examines the theoretical foundations of culture and art in the context of theology, Christian ontology and anthropology, trichotomy, which most fully reflect the genesis of cultural and religious meanings and the spiritual and aesthetic continuity of the development of art, its complex movement towards Truth, Beauty and Goodness. This approach is organic for the interdisciplinary interpretation of the classical heritage, which opens up the prospect of its development, interaction with both ancient Russian culture and the Russian avant-garde, as well as modern artistic processes. In the context of understanding the interaction of theology and culture, the author refers to the monograph of A. V. Markidonov “Theology and Culture” (2022), which analyzes the fundamental problems of the Word and Image, Christocentrism and freedom, the relationship of faith and culture, religious and aesthetic experience, its Christian nature and spiritual and aesthetic integrity based on prayer and ascetic practice as a key for the Eastern Christian tradition. On the example of the work of leading philosophers, artists and writers, such as K. N. Leontiev, F. M. Dostoevsky, St. Andrey Rublev, A. Fet and A. Tarkovsky are examined the features of religious symbolism, the ontological and spiritual- moral concept of works related to the reflection of the relationship between man and God.
