Topical issues of journalism in the perception of present-day high school students (pilot study)

The present paper reflects the results of a survey conducted as part of a lecture on “The Challenges and Opportunities of Modern Journalism”, which is presented to students in grades 10-11 of the humanities profile of school No. 1360 in Moscow. The relevance and novelty of the stated problem lies in the study of the opinions of the younger generation regarding the state of traditional media today, as well as in establishing the students’ attitudes toward modern technologies in the media sphere on the background of the digital transformation of society. For the purposes of this study, students’ responses are presented in connection with the material and provisions of the main sections of the lecture. The conclusions drawn in this paper may serve as a reason for further survey of students’ attitudes towards innovations in the area of modern journalism. Moreover, the materials of this article may be of practical value in the planning of lessons for students in specialized classes on topics related to the challenges and prospects of media development in a rapidly changing world.
