Current issues of countering drug trafficking committed using information and telecommunication technologies

The article analyzes current patterns of drug trafficking in the Russian Federation, considers the peculiarities of using information and telecommunication technologies in committing drug crimes, and provides examples of law enforcement practices to counter this negative phenomenon. The author comes to the conclusions that it is necessary to regulate relations in the field of the circulation of cryptocurrencies in Russia, to determine the methods and means of monitoring their use to prevent, detect and suppress drug offenses. It seems appropriate for law enforcement officers to establish operational and other interaction with representatives of Russian marketplaces, train them to identify signs of drug offenses, and develop appropriate guidelines for actions upon detection of these signs.
