Current issues of combating drug trafficking crimes

The article is devoted to certain issues of combating drug trafficking in the RussianFederation. The authors based on the analysis of statistical data highlighted the main trends in thistype of crime, as well as examined the main ways of committing crimes related to drug trafficking.The article pays special attention to the disclosure of doctrinal and literal interpretation of theconcept of drug trafficking in its broad and narrow meaning. Particular attention is paid to thecontrol in the studied sphere and the issues of medical rehabilitation of drug addicts.In the framework of this study the authors see relevant the adoption of a normative legal act,which would provide a possibility in case of evasion of treatment for drug addiction or medicaland (or) social rehabilitation by persons released from administrative responsibility, in accordancewith the “note” to art. 6.9 of the CAO RF or by virtue of art. 72.1 of the Criminal Code Рѕf the RF,which imposes a duty of treatment and rehabilitation; by court order they may be subjected tocompulsory treatment and undergo medical rehabilitation.
