The ambivalence of power: mytho-theological aspect
Бесплатный доступ
Power in modern philosophy has been one of the most preferred topics and at the same time the concept of "power" has equivocal meaning: since Nietzsche’s philosophy, power has been understood both as creative power, and as a repressive machine of domination. The hypothesis is that the philosophical concept of power is ambiguous because power as a social phenomenon has an ambivalent character. The traditional way of legitimizing power lies in its sacralization. However, because of the fact that the sacral is ambivalent (can be related to both the blessing and the curse), the same characteristics of ambivalence are initially inherent in power.
