The socio-economic landscape of contemporary society is characterized by sustained levels of emotional tension, which exert a profound influence on the psycho-emotional state of individuals. The health outcomes of the modern individual are closely and directly associated with this psycho-emotional state. The effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for any disease is determined not solely by the physician’s professional qualifications, access to state-ofthe- art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, and the availability of pharmaceutical agents, but also by the functional capacity of the patient’s immune system. The activity of the immune system is significantly modulated by a complex interplay of socio-psychological factors. In the context of severe illness, a negative psycho-emotional state may compromise immune function, thereby necessitating that physicians possess an extensive repertoire of personal attributes, communication skills, and socio-psychological competencies aimed at stabilizing the patient’s emotional equilibrium. From a deontological perspective, the practice of medicine unfolds within an environment of heightened emotional demand, which imposes stringent requirements on physicians’ adherence to professional, social, and moral-ethical standards. This study sought to elucidate and compare the perspectives of patients and physicians on the relative importance of specific personal qualities attributed to the ideal and the real doctor, with an emphasis on differences observed between public and private healthcare settings. A mixed-methods design was employed, incorporating retrospective analysis, structured surveys, psychometric testing, and controlled clinical observation. To evaluate concordance or divergence between the stereotypes of the ideal versus real doctor from both patient and physician perspectives, we utilized validated questionnaires, self-assessment scales, and multi-criteria ranking techniques. Quantitative data were subjected to statistical analysis to determine the significance of observed differences, while qualitative responses were thematically coded to identify recurrent patterns and interpretive frameworks. The study revealed statistically significant discrepancies in the prioritization of personal and professional attributes ascribed to ideal and real doctors by patients and physicians. Differences were particularly pronounced in the valuation of empathy, communication style, ethical integrity, and perceived professional competence. The presence of marked divergences in perceptions between physicians and patients underscores the necessity of integrating modules on psychological self-regulation, empathy training, and communication enhancement into medical education curricula. Such measures could contribute to narrowing the expectation–reality gap and optimizing the therapeutic alliance, thereby potentially improving treatment outcomes.
