Performance analysis of financial litercy programs for secondary school students

Statement of the problem. The article is devoted to the analysis of programs to improve financial literacy of the population of the Russian Federation within the framework of school education, the analysis of the results of the implementation of these programs and the results achieved. The purpose of the study is to identify the effectiveness of applied approaches to the organization of financial literacy training for the population of the Russian Federation and the specifics of this process in relation to students of secondary schools based on a comparison of the results of studying the level of financial literacy conducted by Russian and foreign research institutes, identify problems in the implementation of methods for the formation of financial literacy of students of secondary schools, as well as search for ways to solve them. The methodology (materials and methods) of the research consists of general scientific, sociological and empirical methods aimed at understanding the effectiveness of approaches applied to the organization of financial literacy education for the population of the Russian Federation and features in relation to students of secondary schools: analysis, deduction, induction, etc.; methods of collecting factual material and its interpretation, statistical data processing, etc. With their help, the search, generalization and analysis of international normative acts and acts of the Russian Federation defining the conceptual apparatus of literacy, including financial literacy, were carried out; Russian and foreign research works in the field of financial literacy and its improvement are studied; empirical data are interpreted, including the results of research on the approbation of the introduction of financial literacy courses into school educational programs, etc. The results of the study. On the basis of activity-based, competence-based and contextual approaches, as well as a comparative analysis of the results of empirical research, the main disadvantages of existing financial literacy training programs in secondary schools were identified, the causes were analyzed and ways to improve the effectiveness of financial literacy training were identified, including those aimed at improving current legislation, increasing requirements for teaching staff of general education institutions, changing the structure and content of school educational programs, etc.
